FAKE IT ‘TILL YOU MAKE IT…
We’ve all heard it before; “If first you don’t succeed…” (I’m sure the original ending rhymed with bleed, but anyhoo…) None of us become best sellers, award winners, guru’s or anything remotely successful overnight. Even the most simplest of tasks took us time to learn as babies. Everything takes time. This is true for humans, animals and cannibals.
Unlike this cat, regardless of the time we had to master something, some humans can’t recover from their epic fails as easily. We stew, dwell and fret over every detail that went wrong. Fortunately we have the innate ability to fake it until we make it. Some do it better than others, but in the end, there is method to our madness. Faking it is good because it requires acting positive, hopeful and determined, regardless of what we might or might not feel.
So, in times when you are filled with doubt, insecurities or linger on past failures, fake it. If all else fails, pretend it was part of the “act” to start of with.
